PHILADELPHIA-TYPE AMERICAN SILVER HILT SABER.

PHILADELPHIA-TYPE AMERICAN SILVER HILT SABER. Classic Philadelphia eagle pommel with silver guard and ebony grip and dbl. fuller blade. Leather scabbard with silver mounts. Top mount with carrying ring and frog stud, middle mount with carrying ring. SIZE: Blade is 29″, overall is 34-1/2″. CONDITION: Eagle pommel has two 1/2″ splits where the pommel meets the guard and has a dent on the end of the eagles crest. The guard and backstrap have minor bends. The ebony grip shows only minor wear. The wire wrap, if it was ever there, is now missing. Blade is in fine condition with overall gray patina with just a few scattered dark spots. No pitting and a single nick to the cutting edge. Leather scabbard is in solid condition with overall crazing and wear especially evident near the top mount. The three silver mounts are all in good condition with no appreciable flaws. 4-49001 BF15 (4,500-6,500)
