“POTTER” SIGNED REVOLUTIONARY WAR DRAGOON SABER. A massive iron hilted dragoon saber made famous during this country’s battle for independence. Large egg-shape pommel with a massive four slot guard, typical of Potter’s products. Wire wrap leather grip, flat unfullered blade. Strongly marked “POTTER” at the ricasso. SIZE: Blade is 34-5/16″, overall 41-3/8″. CONDITION: Iron has an overall brown and gray patina. Leather is hard and flaky but 98% intact. Full wire wrap. Blade is excellent for its age with an overall smooth patina, no pitting and only minor nicks. One of the finer examples extant. 4-48992 BF6 (15,000-18,000)
