DANIEL CHARLES GROSE (American, 1865-1900) NEW ENGLAND LANDSCAPE. Oil on canvas scene shows a meandering river leading to a large snow capped mountain with hints of a bridge and town nestled below a hillside. Banks are covered with trees, rocks and grass. Possibly a scene of the Saco River and Mt. Washington. Housed in a fine gilt period frame. Signed lower left. SIZE: 14” x 24”. CONDITION: Light craquelure, good. Three areas in sky that show removal of dirt which indicates that the painting will clean up very nicely. 9-73360 (1,500-2,500)
