ROBY MODEL 1840 MUSICIAN’S SWORD. 28-3/16” straight single, fuller blade marked “C.ROBY. / W CHELMSFORD. MS.” in a circle on the left ricasso and “U.S. / 1863 / F.S.S.” on the right. The leather scabbard with light brass mounts, “F.S.S.” inspector marks are also on the drag. CONDITION: Bright blade with only a few minor specks of rust. The quillion is slightly bent to the rear. Scabbard has numerous cracks in the finish but is still solid. 4-48615 FS167 (Lowry Estate) (400-700)
