SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1847 ARTILLERY MUSKETOON. Cal. 69. 26” rnd bbl. Dated 1853 at the rear of the lockplate, 1847 at the bbl tang. The last marking appears to be restamped as the bbl and tang have been filed in that area. Other markings and features are standard. The ramrod is a replacement. From the F. P. L. Mills collection #86a in estate inventory. CONDITION: All metal has been cleaned to bright and is beginning to tone. Stock shows considerable repair with some additions and some new cracks developing. Mechanically good. 4-52510 FS33 (2,000-3,000)
