*VERY SPECIAL ITHACA 4E NID CASED 2-BBL SET SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 457576. Cal. 20 gauge. Bbl set 1: 28″ tapered checkered rib with dual ivory sighting beads. 2-3/4″ chambers, MOD/FULL choke, with ejectors. Bbl set 2: 28″ matted tapered rib with single gold sighting bead. 2-3/4″ chambers, SK/SK choke, with ejectors and were added by Ithaca Classic Doubles. Receiver engraved in usual grade 4 pattern with open foliate scroll and, “Ithaca Gun Co.” and a duck on left side and, “Ithaca, N.Y.” and pheasant on right. Mounted in fancy walnut with orig bbls having checkered splinter forend with black tip insert, added set with Fleur De Lis checkered small beavertail forend with black tip insert, Fleur De Lis checkered pistol grip with black horn grip cap, 14-1/4″ to serrated hard rubber butt plate. Toe line has blank gold shield. Set 1: Bore diameter: left -.618, right -.617. Bore restrictions: left -.024, right -.010. Wall thickness: left -.035, right -.033. Drop at heel: 2″. Drop at comb: 1-1/8″. Weight: 6 lbs 9 oz. Set 2: Bore diameter: left -.634, right -.634. Bore restrictions: left -.013, right -.008. Wall thickness: left -.029, right -.028. Drop at heel: 2″. Drop at comb: 1-1/8″. Weight: 6 lbs 6 oz. Gun is accompanied with copy of letter from Ithaca Classic Doubles telling how this gun had been Steve Lamboy’s (President of Classic Doubles) personal gun for many years, and how it was sent to Italy to be used as a spec gun for his upcoming Ithaca project. It goes on to state that after bringing it back they completely restored it, and the gun is now perfect as the day it left Ithaca. Housed in a Ithaca Classic Double leather case, with canvas cover and accessories. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Probably only test fired since restoration. Bbls have just a few minor handling marks. Case coloring is nearly 99% and stocks are solid with just a few very minor handling marks. Restoration of this gun is superb, likewise case and cover are in nearly new condition.
