FINE BALL CIVIL WAR CARBINE. Cal. 50. 21-1/2” rnd bbl, “GGS” inspector mark on left flat of the stock, standard “E.G. LAMSON & CO. / WINDSOR VT. / U.S. / BALL’S PATENT. / JUNE 23. 1863 / MAR. 15. 1864.” on the left side of the receiver. Inspector’s initials on most larger parts. CONDITION: 90% brown on the bbl and casehardening colors on the right side of the action. Left side of the action lever and buttplate have visible casehardening colors mixed with light surface rust and pitting. Stock has some small dings and scratches. There is light rust forming on the lever and inside the action. Mechanically excellent. 4-52491 FS4 (2,500-4,000)
