*WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 45-90 SN 136437 Standard grade carbine with 22” bbl, full magazine, square base front sight, 3-leaf express rear sight with middle leaf broken and a Marbles spring loaded tang sight. Accompanied by Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this carbine and indicating shipment September 19, 1907. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbl and magazine tube retain 93-95% dull original blue. Front sight bead is broken and the aforementioned middle leaf missing from the rear sight. Receiver retains 60-70% thin original blue, strong and bright in the sheltered areas. Lever and hammer retain faded case colors. Stock has been notched on the comb to accommodate the tang sight and there is a replaced chip by the top tang. Otherwise the wood is sound with the buttstock retaining 60-70% original varnish with light handling and use marks. Forearm is worn with several nicks, dings and bruises and has a hand-rubbed patina.
