*RARE ITHACA NID 5E GRADE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 450027. Cal. 20ga. 26″ best fluid steel bbls checkered tapered rib with sgl brass sighting bead, 2-3/4″ chambers MOD/FULL choked with dbl triggers and ejectors. The Indicator model receiver is engraved with standard grade 5 pattern of gold pheasant on left side and gold woodcock on right, surrounded with a foliate pattern with shaded background. Bottom of receiver has spread-winged eagle with 3 arrows clutched in its talons and “Made in USA Ithaca Gun Co. Ithaca N.Y.” Mounted in fancy American walnut with checkered splinter fore end, straight grip fleur-de-lis checkered stock with checkered raised side panels, 14-1/4″ over hard rubber buttplate and blank gold initial shield mounted in toeline. Bore diameter: left -.622, right -.622. Bore restrictions: left -.027, right -.017. Wall thickness: left -.031, right -.028. Drop at heel: 2-7/8″, drop at comb: 1-3/4″. Weight:6lbs. 4oz. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 98% of a factory quality restoration of the blue. Receiver retains 20-25% orig case coloring, mostly in protected areas with the balance being a blend of silver gray patina. Trigger guard has 60-70% orig blue with the bow area being worn to a silver patina and tang having a mixture of brown and blue flaked silver patina. Wood is sound and retains 98% of a fine professional restored finish. Mechanics are somewhat problematic in that with safety on and triggers pulled, gun remains on safe until safety slid into fire position when the hammers will fall.
