EARL CUNNINGHAM (American, 1893-1977) THE COVERED BRIDGE. Outstanding folk art oil on masonite scene shows a large red roofed covered bridge spanning two green land masses and a line of wagons crossing. The foreground water has three red birch bark canoes with depictions of Native Americans with oars. Also two white hulled, white sailed schooners. The land masses have trees and flowers and there is one house with a dock with two men fishing. The background is in a mottled blue sky with two three-mast sailboats on the horizon. Several white birds fly in the sky. Signed lower left. Unframed. SIZE: 16″ x 36″. PROVENANCE: From a New England home. CONDITION: Very good. 9-95595 (15,000-25,000)
