ARTHUR QUARTLEY (American, 1839-1886) “GEORGETOWN ISLAND, ME”. Oil on canvas scene shows a two-mast schooner alongside a rock dock area with boathouse. White and gray clouds with blue sky. Signed with artist monogram in bottom right. Also “Georgetown Island, ME Sept. 10th 78”. Housed in what appears to be its original antique gesso decorated gilt liner. SIZE: 14” x 22”.
