*RARE ITHACA NID 5E GRADE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 454196. Cal. 16ga. 26″ “BEST FLUID STEEL” bbls with checkered tapered rib, single ivory sighting bead, IMP.MOD/MOD. 2 9/16″ chambers ejectors and double triggers. Indicator model receiver is engraved in typical grade 5 pattern with copper colored pheasant on left side, gold woodcock on right, spread eagle clutching 3 arrows in its talons, made in the USA on bottom with “ITHACA GUN Co. ITHACA, N.Y.” on trigger plate. Remainder of action is engraved in a foliate pattern with stipple shaded background. Mounted with fancy American walnut with checkered splinter fore end with black tip insert, straight grip with fleur de lis checkering, checkered raised panels, 14 1/8″ to hard rubber butt plate. Bore diameter: left -.667 , right -.667. Bore restrictions: left -.017, right -.026. Wall thickness: left -.020, right -.021. Drop at heel:2 3/8″ , drop at comb: 1 5/8″. Weight:6lbs 10oz. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 90-95% original blue, with a small area of thinning on left bbl, the usual muzzle wear, and a few light scratches. Receiver has 50-60% case coloring, stronger in the protected areas, and silvered through the bottom carrying area, trigger guard has 95% of a professionally restored finish, triggers retain most of their original gold. Stocks are sound with just a few minor handling and hunting marks and retains most of its professionally restored oil finish. Mechanics are crisp and bores are shiny. 4-33293 BDT78 (5,000-8,000)
