*WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 LEVER ACTION CARBINE. Cal. 45-90 SN 124028 Standard grade carbine with 22” bbl, full magazine, replacement blade in square base front sight with short carbine ladder rear sight. The case colored receiver has a stud and ring in the left side and it has uncheckered wood with straight stock and carbine buttplate. Accompanied by Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this carbine and indicating shipment September 24, 1901. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl and magazine tube retain about 95% strong bright original blue with a small ding on the magazine tube and a rubbed spot over the chamber area. Receiver retains 92-93% strong bright original case colors, slightly muted overall with some fading to silver on the bottom. Lever retains 85-90% muted case colors and hammer about 95% bright colors. Buttplate is a brown patina. Wood is sound and retains most of a restored finish. Mechanics are fine, brilliant shiny bore. 4-52429 JR229 (12,500-17,500)
