*SCARCE WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 50 EX (51-110) SN 134103 Standard grade carbine with 22” bbl, full magazine, ivory bead square base front sight, platinum-line 3-leaf express rear sight and Lyman tang sight with large disk. Receiver has a stud and ring in the left side and it has uncheckered wood with straight stock and carbine buttplate. It has sling eyes in the stock and bbl band with hooks and an original Winchester leather sling marked “W. J. PLUMMER/W. LEBANON/N.H.”. Accompanied by Cody Firearms Museum yellow sheet identifying this rifle with a Lyman front sight and indicating shipment on September 21, 1905. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbl and magazine tube retain 97-98% strong bright original blue. Receiver retains 95-97% original blue, strong and bright on the sides and top, slightly thinned on the bottom with light edge wear. Lever retains 30-40% faded case colors and the hammer about 95% strong dark colors. Buttplate retains 75-80% case colors, bright on the tang, faded elsewhere. Wood is sound and retains most of its original factory finish with very minor storage and handling marks. Sling is fine and supple. 4-52428 JR228 (15,000-25,000)
