LOT OF FOUR ANTIQUE TOP HATS. Each in a case or box. (1) An early beaver skin top hat, the type worn by riverboat gamblers. Marked on the inside “DUNLAP & COMPANY, ST. LOUIS” in a period carrying case. CONDITION: shows plenty of use. (2) A collapsable top hat, also the type worn by riverboat gamblers, signed “H. J. PORTER AUGUSTA GEORGIA” in a period leather carrying case. CONDITION: hat and case show plenty of use and wear. (3) An antique beaverskin top hat marked “BY SCOTT & COMPANY, PICADILLY, LONDON. FOR COLLINS & FAIRBANKS, BOSTON” The 19th century hat is in a 20th century stetson top hat box. CONDITION: Hat generally very good, hat box damaged. (4) A beaverskin top hat marked “YOUMANS BROADWAY, N.Y” in a satin-lined holder within a 19th century metal hat box. CONDITION: Hat much used and damaged, tin box with original old paint decoration worn in many places. 4-57719-2 (300-600)
