CURRIER & IVES (American, Publisher, 19th Century) CHAMPION TROTTING STALLION “NELSON”. Conningham Checklist No. 981. Large folio edition with good color. Signed in print “J. Cameron”. Copyright 1891. Scene shows a high wheel sulky being driven by a jockey in red and white. The large brown horse in full stride. “Bred, owned and driven by C. H. Nelson, Waterville, Maine”. Housed in a decorative red painted wood frame having an article from a newspaper concerning a similar print. TOTAL SIZE: 25-3/4” x 33-1/2”. CONDITION: There is some light water stains to bottom edge and one 6” stain. Examined out of frame. Generally good with some light toning. 9-28688 (1000-1500)
