UNSIGNED (European, 19th Century) FARM ACTIVITIES ON A SUMMER DAY. Fabulous oil on canvas scene shows a connected farmhouse with barns near a river. A man fishes at the juncture of another stream. A woman is seen with cow and goat on one side of the water while a man and woman converse on the other. In the field beyond a sheppard is seen with flock of sheep and two houses are seen below mountains and hills. Large trees are seen on left framing the farmhouse under an expansive blue and white cloud sky. Housed in what appears to be its original magnificent gilt decorated frame. PROVENANCE: Purchased from Ken Tuttle Antique in the 1980’s. SIZE: 32” x 39-1/2”. CONDITION: Restored with inpainting. Very good. 9-74417 LG (1,500-3,000)
