SCARCE LARGE CURRIER & IVES (American, Publisher, 19th Century) “THE HUNTERS SHANTY”. Conninghams Checklist No. 2993. Colored lithograph shows a man dragging a birch bark canoe onto shore with another man handling a recently shot deer. A campfire blazes heating a cast iron pot next to a log cabin. Dated in publisher’s line. Housed in a modern burl and black molded wood frame with light tan matte. IMAGE SIZE: 14-3/4” x 20-3/4”. SIGHT SIZE: 16-1/4” x 21-3/4”. CONDITION: Overall toning and foxing, generally very good with strong colors. Not examined out of frame. 9-29083 (1000-1500)
