BURNSIDE 4TH MODEL CIVIL WAR CARBINE. Cal. 54. SN 18698. Standard carbine with 21” bbl, usual sights and markings, small forearm with bbl band and straight stock with carbine butt and sling swivel. There is the outline of a cartouche on the left wrist. The sling bar & ring have been removed. CONDITION: Fair to good. Metal has been cleaned and retains a mottled silver/brown patina with light surface rust. Wood is sound and retains most of an old refinish.
