FINE PRESENTATION EAGLE HEAD SWORD. 32-1/2” straight, single fuller blade with blue and etched designs on both sides. No maker’s mark is visible. Counter guard has a seated Indian with an American eagle to his right and military designs elsewhere. Pearl scales are held by copper wire wrap. Back of the grip is engraved “JAMES ROCA. JUNE 4, 1810.” (Presentation not contemporary to the sword. May be a family commemorative date) CONDITION: Some wear to the blue on the blade and light rust stains towards the tip. Hilt is fine, with some minor chipping to the rear of the pearl scales. Brass scabbard has minor dents but is generally fine. 4-48573 FS152 (Lowry Estate) (1,000-2,000)
