UNUSUAL ANTEBELLUM OFFICER’S SWORD BY HORSTMANN. The 33-1/2” dbl fuller blade is etched on both sides and has the “IRON PROOF” mark on the spine indicating that the blade is an import. Plain solid brass hilt. Scabbard is made of sharkskin and has rough cast brass mounting, missing the throat. CONDITION: Blade is bright with a few handling marks. Scabbard is near excellent.
