*OUTSTANDING UPGRADED LC SMITH GRADE 4E SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 6255. Cal. 20 ga. 26″ bbl. Tapered matte rib with single brass sighting bead. 2-9/16″ chambers. MOD/IMP.MOD ejectors and double triggers. Top of rib is engraved “Made to order by the Hunter Arms Co. Fulton N.Y.” The receiver is engraved with moderate foliate arabesque scroll, and an oval with a pointing setter on left side plate, and an oval with a pointer on right side plate. Trigger guard is engraved with an oval with two quail, and some loose scroll surrounding it. Mounted with streaky American walnut with full checkered splinter forend with black tip insert. Checkered straight grip stock 14-1/8″ to hard rubber butt plate. Bore diameter: left -.617, right -.618. Bore restrictions: left -.021, right -.015. Wall thickness: left -.026, right -.025. Drop at heel: 2-3/8″. Drop at comb: -1/2″. Weight: 5 lbs 11 oz. When checked with Cody Firearm Museum the record of this serial number came back as a 00E 20 ga. with 26″ bbls. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain 95-98% restored blue with some thinning at chamber area, a little muzzle wear, and a few usual light nicks and dings. Receiver has full brilliant case colors with very sharp crisp engraving. Stocks are sound with sharp checkering and only a few light hunting marks and minor dings, and retain most of a very nice satin varnish finish. 4-33666 BDT88 (3,000-5,000)
