*DESIRABLE LC SMITH SPECIALTY GRADE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN FWE76763. Cal 20 ga., 30″ bbl with matted tapered rib single brass sighting bead, 2-1/2″ chambers, FULL/FULL chokes, ejectors and double triggers, right bbl chamber area engraved “L.C. Smith SPECIALTY GRADE” with left “HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. M’F”R’S FULTON, N.Y.U.S.A.”. Receiver engraved in usual specialty grade with open foliate scroll and 2 quail on left plate, and flying ducks in marsh scene on right. Mounted with semi fancy American walnut with checked splintered forend with black tip insert, checkered pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap and 14-1/4″ over hard rubber buttplate, accompanied with Cody firearms museum fact sheet fully identifying gun and being shipped May 12, 1927 on order 21509 to California Hardware Co. Bore diameter: left -.614 , right -.614. Bore restrictions: left -.025, right -.025. Wall thickness: left -.035, right -.033. Drop at heel: 2-3/8″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Weight: 6lbs. 8 oz. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 95-98% orig blue with slight muzzle wear, usual minor scratches and a slight amount of thinning in chamber area. Receiver has 50-60% orig color, mostly in the protected areas with the balance being a silver gray hardening color, trigger guard has 98% of factory quality restored blue. Stock is sound with minor hairline cracks off of each plate and the usual light nicks and dings.
