THREE MISSISSIPPIAN TYPE PIECES, TWO BOWLS AND ONE WATER BOTTLE. Mississippian period, Circa 1200-1500AD style. Both bowls are Neeleys Ferry style. 1) Marked “Tennessee” and has tally marked rim. SIZE: 6-1/4” dia x 3” h. Shows some repair of minor crack on one side but in good condition. 2) Scalloped rim. Broken at one side of base and repaired. Otherwise fair to good. SIZE: 5-1/2” dia x 3” h. 3) Water bottle shows some use wear on rim and two or three scratches to the body. Otherwise good. SIZE: 6-1/4” h x 6” w. SPECIAL NOTE: We do not regularly sell Prehistoric Indian stone artifacts and therefore have very little experience and no expertise in this area. All of the following lots have come from the Collection of the Late Allen Graves of Tennessee. The collection was inherited some years back by his daughter, who now lives in Maine. This collection was consigned to us directly from her. We employed someone to generally identify styles and types, but as stated above, due to our lack of expertise in this field, we can not guarantee the age or origin of the following pieces.
