FINE NON-REGULATION CIVIL WAR SWORD. 32” dbl fuller blade by “W. / CLAUBERG / SOLINGEN” has 14 1/2” etched engraved and gold washed panels on both sides of the blade as well as stylized leaves down the back of the blade. Right side of the blade has soldiers in uniform standing on either side of a Massachusetts state seal as well as a stand of flags and a very fancy “US”. The left side has similarly decorated stand of flags with cannon and the US eagle. The hilt is a standard German issue pattern of that period. Scabbard is browned steel with bronze throat and drag. CONDITION: Excellent with minor wear to the ricasso on the blade and slight pitting externally. 4-48558 X31 (Lowry Estate) (2,000-4,000)
