ATTRIBUTED TO CLEMENT DREW (American, 1806-1889) SHIP IN HEAVY GAIL. Dramatic oil on canvas scene shows a three-mast sailing ship in half sail in very heavy green and white ocean with large waves. Ship is close to a large rock cliff and listing to one side in the wind. Gray dark clouds with a blue sky opening. Unsigned. Housed in a fabulous gilt antique style replacement frame by Guido of Boston. SIZE: 22” x 30”. CONDITION: Very good, cleaned with minor inpainting. 9-29457 (4000-6000)
