FINE ARTILLERY OFFICERS SWORD. 31-3/8” single fuller blade is etched on both sides but does not have a makers mark. Counter guard has an American eagle and the pommel is an eagle head. Guard is cast in rope form as part of the counter guard. Brass scabbard is lightly engraved. CONDITION: Widely scattered light surface rust on the blade with some tiny nicks in the edge. The hilt and scabbard shows some wear to the gilt. Scabbard has been bent in the middle and repaired. The bone scales on the grip are stained but solid. 4-48578 FS93 (Lowry Estate) (1,000-1,500)
