ABBOTT FULLER GRAVES (American, 1859-1936) THE GARDEN DOORWAY. Outstanding oil on canvas scene shows a Colonial home with a four light open doorway. The white house has two windows with green shutters and is framed by tree branches. There is a picnic type table covered with pots of colorful flowers. A central pathway to the door is lined with colorful flowers gardens on each side. Signed lower right “Abbott Graves”. Housed in its original carved wood flower decorated frame which has been over painted gold. PROVENANCE: From a western Vermont summer home. REFERENCE: Never offered at auction, fresh to the marketplace. SIZE: 16” x 20”. CONDITION: Untouched, original condition. Very good. 9-70977 (30,000-50,000)
