*VERY SCARCE LC SMITH CROWN GRADE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 218784. Cal. 10 ga. 32″ bbl with concave matted tapered rib, and single gold sighting bead. 2-7/8″ chambers, chokes IMP. MOD/FULL, ejectors, and Hunter One trigger. Right bbl engraved, “L.C. Smith Crown grade.” Left bbl, “Made to Order by the Hunter Arms Co. Fulton, N.Y.” Bbls also have 1-1/2″ of scroll engraved wedges at chambers, and narrow engraved band at muzzle. The massive receiver is engraved with very fine foliate arabesque scroll and floral bouquets, with oval of two pointing setters in woodland scene on left plate, and two pointing pointers in oval on right plate. Scroll on fences with single bead, and gold inlaid crown on pivot of top lever. Trigger guard engraved with floral bouquet surrounded by fine scroll, mounted in fancy walnut with full checkered splinter forend, and black tip insert. Wraparound checkered round knob pistol grip, 14-3/8″ to serrated hard rubber butt plate. Bore diameter: left -.779, right -.774. Bore restrictions: left -.055, right -.045. Wall thickness: left -.041, right -.038. Drop at heel: 2-3/4″. Drop at comb: 1-5/8″. Weight: 10 lbs. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain 98-99% blue with only a few very minor handling marks. Receiver has 80-85% case color with balance being a fading to a silver hardening finish. Wood is sound with just the slightest of hairline cracks behind each plate, and only a few very minor handling marks in it’s fine professionally restored finish.
