ORIGINAL TIN TARGET SHOT BY AD TOPPERWEIN. Ad Topperwein and his wife traveled the country in the early to mid-20th century performing shooting exhibitions on behalf of ammunition companies. Part of the performance included shooting the silhouette of a subject on a tin sheet like this Indian chief with headdress. Inscribed “Shot by Ad Topperwein, Winchester, Aug. 19/41″ (somewhat faded). Housed in a simple wood frame. SIZE: 22-1/2″ w. x 30-1/2” h. CONDITION: Very good, various scratches and light bends. 1-8346 AT (1,500-2,500)
