ORIGINAL TIN TARGET SHOT BY AD TOPPERWEIN. Ad Topperwein and his wife traveled the country in the early to mid-20th century performing shooting exhibitions on behalf of ammunition companies. Part of the performance included shooting the silhouette of a subject on a tin sheet like this Indian chief with headdress. Clearly inscribed “Shot by Ad Topperwein, Winchester, June 30/38”. Housed in a simple wood frame. Reverse is mounted with 1986 American Rifleman article on the Topperweins. SIZE: 23-1/2″ w. x 33-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Good to very good, with various scratches and light bends. 1-8345 AT (1,500-2,500)
