PRESENTATION MODEL 1852 NAVAL OFFICER’S SWORD. High grade import by Clauberg, silver grip, wire wrapped, shark skin scabbard with engraved mounts. Inscribed on top of guard “GL DAVIS FROM HIS FRIENDS, MASSA, NEWCOMB AND BINDER”. Top mount exhibits patriotic shield with “USN”, liberty cap with “LIBERTY” spelled out. “Davis was paymaster on the Steam Sloop Pensacola” during the Civil War”. CONDITION: Sword overall very good.
