FIRST SERIES PORTRAIT JUMEAU DOLL. Earliest period of the Portrait Jumeau bebes with head incised “1” and an unmarked body. She has beautiful spiral blue paperweight eyes, mauve shading on the upper eyelids, nicely outlined lips and is on her original body with eight separate ball joints and straight wrists. She has been well recostumed in a pink silk and lace dress wearing slightly later marked “Jumeau” shoes which are stamped “6 Paris” as well as an antique blond mohair wig over cork pate. SIZE: 17″ (44cm). CONDITION: Fine early pale bisque and, as typical, some very minor kiln dust, minor chip near left earring hole, and body has had a very well done old repaint. 1-8389 RS (10,000-15,000)
