ATTRIBUTED TO SEVERIN ROESEN (American, 1815-1972) STILL LIFE OF FRUIT AND FLOWERS. Outstanding oil on canvas scene shows a grouping of colorful fruit with flowers providing a canopy. The fruit includes plums, peach, apple, purple and green grapes, along with red raspberries, blackberries and cherries. Atop the fruit are red and blue flowers. There are a variety of insects including fly, mosquito and ladybugs. Still life is set on a marble slab and is unsigned. Housed in a fine reproduction gilt frame retaining a Guido Frame Studio label.
