Gray blade, etched with patriotic motifs, firm marked “NP AMES CUTLER SPRINGFIELD”. Brass scabbard engraved with presentation “PRESENTED TO CAPT. THEODORE ASHLEY OF COMPANY C MASSACHUSETTS VOLUNTEERS. BY THE PAST MEMBERS OF THE BOSTON LIGHT INFANTRY BOSTON JANY 8TH 1847”.
