ANNA ELIZA HARDY (American, 1839-1934) “WHITE ROSES”. Unsigned oil on board shows a still life of white roses in a blue and white decorated vase. Three petals have fallen onto the tabletop surface. Housed in a bead decorated modern gilt frame. A typed card on back indicates that this was “A gift to Ada Stetson Peirce on her 7th birthday at Bangor. She being in Rome, or thereabouts, we, Waldo, Chamberlain, and myself honored the day at home with loving thoughts and gifts.” Signed “Laura Hayford Grandmother”. SIZE: 9” x 12”.
