SPECTACULAR COLT 1860 COLT ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 44 perc. Civilian model, blue and case colored with 8” round barrel and one-piece walnut grips. The frame is case colored and the recoil shields cut for shoulder stock with corresponding cut in the bottom of the butt. It has a German silver front sight with silver plated brass trigger guard and iron backstrap. The cylinder has the usual Naval battle scene. SN 153839. CONDITION: Extremely fine, all matching. The barrel retains 80-85% bright factory blue with the balance being a light patina and one small spot of light fine rust pitting on each side. The cylinder retains 60-70% thin original finish, stronger in the rebated area with the front half flaking to light patina and it retains about 95% or more strong scene. The frame retains 60-70% thin case colors, bright in the sheltered areas. The hammer retains about 90% fading case colors. The hammer nose has been dressed down. The trigger guard retains 60-70% original silver plating and the backstrap 80-90% original blue, slightly thin and mixed with patina. The grips are superb and retain 96-97% strong original varnish with a cut or small crack on the right side at the frame. Brilliant shiny bore, crisp mechanics.
