DIARIES OF ISAAC F CLARK 1862-1932. Wonderful archive of 82 individually bound diaries. Diaries average about 6” x 3 1/2”. 70 years of almost daily accounts of a Westbrook, Maine residents life. Accompanied by facsimile antique vintage photos of Mr. Clark and his wife, another photograph taken in the 1940’s shows his grave. Mr. Clark was born 1841, died in 1942 and lived 101 years and 70 years are chronicled here. 1862 mentions “Goes to drills a lot. Goes to caucus for nomination of officers of C.O.E. Maine Militia”. Oct. 18 1862 “23rd Reg left Portland today”. Oct 16 1862 “25th Reg left Portland today.” One book contains a loose 17th Reg M.V.M. pass to and from headquarters. 1865 April 15 mentions assassination of President Lincoln.
