AMANDA PALMER (American, 1931-) HENRY JAMES SENIOR AND JUNIOR. Unsigned oil on canvas double portrait from a daguerreotype taken by celebrated photographer Matthew Brady. This painting is one of a series which Palmer created during the 1960’s using period photographs of historic personalities of the 19th and early 20th Centuries. The celebrated writer is shown seated with a cane next to his standing son who holds a hat. Circa mid 1960’s. Housed in a simple wood frame. PROVENANCE: The Donelson Farquhar Hoopes Estate, Steuben, Maine. SIZE: 40” x 40”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-70723 (300-500)
