PAIR OF CARVED OAK CHAIRS. Made by the same unknown maker, these chairs have great appeal for the collector of black memorabilia. These finely carved chairs depict two different black characters with cutout mouths that form the backs of the chairs. One is a farmer with hat with exaggerated features. The other is a scowling man with headdress and long moustache. On turned legs. SIZE: Seat height is 17-3/4″, total height is 39″. CONDITION: Uniform wear with scattered chips. Second chair missing one small block at the rear that holds back of chair into seat. Overall good to very good. 1-7567 (700-900)
