WILLIAM MERRITT CHASE (American, 1849-1916) STILL LIFE WITH FISH AND SHRIMP. Large oil on canvas still life scene shows fish laid out on table top with mussels and shells beside. In back of fish is a large brass pail and small white bowl of red shrimp with several on table. Signed center left “W.M. Chase”. Housed in a replacement gilt molded wood frame. Painting has been relined and re-stretched on a new stretcher. PROVENANCE: A Maine collector. SIZE: 26″ x 38-1/2″. CONDITION: Very good, relined, three small areas restored-retouched. 9-92708 (15,000-25,000)
