UNMARKED CARTRIDGE/MONEY BELT WITH KIPER DOUBLE LOOP HOLSTER. Belt is russet brown leather, 37″ x 2-7/8″, sewn on both edges with herringbone rolled decoration, & sewn & riveted billets. Buckle is rectangle nickel cut-corner. Tongue billet is a replacement as are thirty-five cartridge loops. Holster is dbl loop with wide skirt & swelled center loops. It has red wool trade cloth lining with open toe, sewn back edge & rivets at each end. Holster has light border decorations. Top of holster has cartouche “L. KIPER & SONS / MAKERS / ATCHISON.KAS.”. Top loop is stamped with number “15” & has punched holes in probably what is a pattern of initials. Bottom loop is hand stamped “W.F. RICE / PLUM CREEK / NEB.”. Edge of skirt also has small punched holes. CONDITION: Belt is dry & crackled, has been treated, has some finish loss on edges & some loose stitching about mid-point. Holster is dry & crackled but sound, retaining 80-85% orig finish. 4-57592 JR559 (1,000-2,000)
