UNSIGNED (British, 19th Century) OFF THE COAST. Oil on canvas marine scene shows a rowboat with four figures approaching a two-mast sailing ship with figures aboard, another boat is seen leaving. On left side is land with castle and houses. The morning sun is rising hidden behind large clouds with a colorful sky. Housed in its original gesso decorated gilt frame which has some corner damage. PROVENANCE: From a fine Bucksport, Maine home. SIZE: 26-3/4” x 36-1/4”. CONDITION: Craquelure, very good. 9-28708 (2000-3000)
