1902 COCA-COLA PAPER SIGN. Exceedingly rare linen backed paper sign depicting an attractive young woman in front of an ormolu screen. She wears a red sleeveless dress with a grid pattern of pearls across the bodice and a fancy black and red feathered bonnet. She sits at a desk with a vase of red carnations and an oval sign stating “Drink Coca-Cola 5 cents”. She is taking a break from the book she is reading to enjoy a glass of our nation’s favorite beverage. This is the version with “Drink Carbonated Coca-Cola in Bottles” across the top. The lower right is inscribed “I love its flavor”. This piece comes fresh to the market from a southern home having descended through the family from the consignor’s great aunt. SIZE: 14-3/4″ w x 19-1/4″ h. CONDITION: Fair and somewhat faded with various tears and creases and some minor loss to edges. 1-8588 AT (9,000-11,000)
