RARE DR. PEPPER CARDBOARD SIGN WITH WOMAN. An early and extremely important stone lithographed advertisement from Dr. Pepper depicts a beguiling young woman holding a flared soda fountain glass etched with “Dr. Pepper”. The sign carries the captions “King of Beverages”, “Free From Caffeine”, “Vim Vigor and Vitality” which were used during the turn of the century, dating this sign to around 1900-1910. Lithographed by Kaufmann & Strauss Co., N.Y. An absolutely sensational investment grade sign which I’ve personally never seen offered for sale before. Dr. Pepper originated at Morrison’s Old Corner Drug Store in Waco, Texas in and is the oldest of the major soft drink brands in America. It was introduced to the public in 1885 with full scale production beginning in 1888 by the Artesian Manufacturing and Bottling Company in Waco, which today houses the Dr. Pepper Museum. It is interesting to note the artist misspelled “Waco” as “Waoc”, which could account for the limited circulation of this sign, making it incredibly rare today. SIZE: 10″ w x 15″ h. CONDITION: Near excellent with the only blemishes being a small water mark at the far right bottom margin; a minuscule nibble to the top right margin and some soiling to the very top margin, none of which affect the image. Small factory hanger hole at the top center. 1-8207 PF (12,500-15,000)
