LIONEL STANDARD GAUGE ELECTRIC FREIGHT SET. Consisting of electric locomotive #402-E and seven early large freight cars. 1) Locomotive #402-E has some wheels that are fatigued; some minor wear and tear and some small chips/scuffing. It is one of Lionel’s best selling engines for that time. 2) Box car #14 in orange lettering has very good paint on the side of cars for the time is very good plus. The roof is chipped and scratched; however it has both doors and overall looks nice. 3) Side dump car in maroon and black trim in excellent condition with one or two minor chip marks. 4) Large green early cattle car, green paint. Rust on trucks and wheels. Overall paint is not bad, some chipping. Roof has some chips and scratches. Good condition. 5) Flat car is maroon and is missing one brake wheel; good condition. 6) Gondola in dark gray with green base; printing is strong; brake wheel intact; is very good plus for its age. 7) Early caboose is dark red with surface rust on trucks and minor wear to the sides in good condition. 8) Tank car is maroon with several scratches. CONDITION: Engine 402-E has had headlights replaced otherwise all original and paint is very good plus except for roof; which shows some wear in the paint. Overall condition for the cars rates good.
