RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 1876 DELUXE LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 50 Express (50-95). SN 35144. Very rare express rifle with 24-3/8” rnd bbl, ivory bead Lyman front sight, short semi-buckhorn rear sight with checkered edges and a Lyman tang sight. It has button magazine with factory sling swivels and beautiful highly figured checkered 3-4X American walnut wood with straight stock and full-checkered black hard rubber buttplate. Accompanied by a Winchester Factory letter showing shipment from warehouse August 20, 1883, order #5939. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine. Bbl retains 96-98% strong bright original blue with only a few very minor small nicks. Receiver and sideplates retain virtually all of their original factory case colors, which have faded to beautiful mellow tones. Lever and hammer also retain most of their original factory case colors, brilliant in the sheltered areas. Wood is sound with minor handling and use marks and a small scrape on the comb, and retains most of its original piano varnish finish. Dust cover retains 95-96% of its original bright blue.
