FINE SPANISH TRAVELERS PISTOL. NSN. 68 Cal. 5” swamped oct bbl. “PEDRO GUISASOLA EIBAR 1855” is inlaid in gold on top of the bbl inside a fancy gold border which laps over to the quarter flats. This is a percussion pistol with an animal shaped nose on the hammer, but is of the Miquelet style with the mainspring and sear on the outside of the lockplate. There is a faceted and carved belt loop on the left side. The triggerguard, bbl tang and lock are all engraved. CONDITION: Near excellent, retaining all of the brown on the bbl and bright casehardening on the breech plug, lock, triggerguard, buttcap, sideplate and belt hook. There is a chip of wood out of the stock at the muzzle. Ramrod pipe retaining pin is missing. Mechanically fine. 4-59248 FS742 (1,750-2,500)
