*MODIFIED SMITH & WESSON MODEL 39-2 SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 9mm. Parkerized finish, standard size with checkered monogrammed gray plastic grips. Slide stop has been replaced with an extended lever that is articulated on both sides of the slide to serve as a slide lock so that the pistol may be fired from a closed breech configuration. It has 1” extended bbl that is threaded at the muzzle and has very high raised sights, apparently to clear a silencer. Backstrap has been extended and grooved, apparently to accept a detachable shoulder stock. It is accompanied by a 5” x 1-5/8” fake silencer and a plastic carrying case. This pistol was made up for Tom Campbell, who was a tool maker in the Smith & Wesson experimental shop and basically conforms to the configuration of a Navy Seals’ Mark II Hush Puppy. It was completed using all original parts and is an exact reproduction except it is in carbon steel rather than stainless steel. SN A147000. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Retains virtually all the fine oxide finish as it apparently left the factory with. Mechanics appear to function as intended. 4-48329 JR423 (Anderson Collection) (3,000-5,000)
