PAIR OF WILKINS CLOWN ON MULE PUSH TOYS. Pictured in Wilkins 1911 catalog. As push stick toys go, this pair is probably the finest detailed one could hope to find. Both toys have a clown sitting on mule’s back. When pushed along, the clowns, being hinged at the hands and neck of mule, are thrown about. What is astonishing is the incredible detailed casting of the mule and clown. The paint scheme is as follows: the mule is japanned with gold highlighting, a polychromed clown, and the yellow wheels with black pinstriping. SIZE: Mules measure 6″ & 4″ respectively. CONDITION: Both are in very fine original condition, lacking sticks. JL 1-4007-1150 (400-600)
